What Causes Acne

It is rather disturbing to realize that most of the things we take for granted in our daily lives can be responsible for leading to certain negative health effects on us. There are so many things that can cause acne that we are taking for granted. I guess after reading through this piece, we will be better informed and work towards getting rid of the acne that we have been forced to carry about on our skin all this while.

One of the main factors that had been responsible for causing acne had been uncleanness. An unclean way of treating the skin is very responsible for causing acne on our skin. When your skin is not well cleaned, you will have dirt and oil on the skin. The presence of the oil and dirt leads to the blocking of the pores in the skin. The oil will then be retained in the skin and act as a growth platform for the bacterium that is responsible for the occurrence of acne. If we want to prevent acne, we will then do well to consistently keep our skin as clean as possible to rid the skin of oil and dirt. This will make the skin very uninhabitable for any form of bacteria.

One cause of acne had been the assumption of puberty. There are so many activities that go on in the human body when someone attains puberty. These activities had been implicated to lead to the occurrence of acne on the skin of the individual. During puberty, certain hormonal changes occur in the body. These hormonal changes lead to the overactivity of the sebaceous gland. This will cause more oil to be produced due to the expansion of the gland. The increase in the produced oil will cause will lead to the trapping of some of the oil in the skin. The trapping helps bacteria to grow on the skin. This causes the formation of pus under the skin at the point where the oil is trapped. Pimples or acne then ensues.

A bacterium that had been implicated to cause acne is Propionibacterium acnes. Indeed, this bacterium is not the one that actually causes acne. It, however, had been implicated to make the acne condition worse than normal; this is what leads to the cause of severe acne on some affected persons. This bacterium produces some chemicals on the oil that had been trapped in the air follicle. This then alters the normal composition of the oil and makes the oil to become somewhat irritating to the skin. This then leads to the cause of acne.

One factor that can lead to the enlargement of the sebaceous gland is stress. When an individual is stressed, more hormones are produced by the human body. The hormone is responsible for enlarging the oil gland, which leads to the production of more oil and the possibility of some of the oil being trapped increases. The bacterium then takes it from there.
